Helpful nutrients — what Michael and I used
Explanations of minerals, fat-soluble vitamins, B vitamins, omega-3, and Q10 — and how they fit into the concept
👥 Who’s writing here? The following explanations are based on the concept of naturopath Michael Prgomet, who developed the method and used it himself to lose 25 kg in 2.5 months. I, Dustin Müller, later used the method myself — and here I share both Michael’s observations and my own.

Minerals
Why activity uses up minerals
Every activity of the body needs energy, and that also includes thinking, stress, anxiety, and depressive states. Energy is obtained by burning carbohydrates. This produces lactic acid as a natural waste product. This acid has to be bound by minerals and flushed out. If there are too few minerals relative to the acids, this is called over-acidification. The body then often stores acids and harmful substances temporarily in the fat cells until there are enough minerals again.
Consequences of over-acidification
- Water retention (cellulite, a swollen face, edema)
- Inflammatory processes, joint problems
- Sleep problems, lack of energy
- Difficulty concentrating, reduced ability to heal
- Skin irritation, pimples, dry skin
The stove example — how burning works
The mitochondria are like little wood stoves that burn fats and carbohydrates as fuel. The water- and fat-soluble vitamins are the fire starters and the accelerant, and without oxygen, nothing burns here either. Burning produces energy, but also ash, meaning lactic acid. The more the stove burns, no matter which activity causes it, the more ash builds up. It has to be cleared out with a shovel and bucket, meaning via minerals, and as fast as it’s produced. If it’s left lying there, the flame gets smaller and smaller.
Why energy is important for absorbing minerals
Minerals are actively transported into the cells, and that itself costs energy. If you have little energy because of burnout, depression, or exhaustion, you can no longer manage this transport properly. Then a deficiency can develop in the cells even though there are enough minerals in the blood. The result: The cell becomes over-acidified and works less well.
When the minerals don’t make it into the cells
- General weakness and lack of drive
- Concentration problems, mood swings
- Reduced cell performance
This also shows why it’s not enough to just pop minerals — the body has to have the energy to use them at all. And the faster the minerals can actively move through the cell membrane into the cell, the higher their bioavailability. That’s exactly why Michael took specially processed minerals. In his experience, they have the highest bioavailability because they’re funneled into the interior of the cells in ionized form through an active “Nutrient Transport Concept.”
Fat-soluble vitamins
For fighting sudden cravings and losing weight without hunger
Fat-soluble vitamins, meaning A, D, E, and K, ensure stable fat and sugar burning in the cells. If they’re missing, the body lets you know with cravings for fatty things like chips, nuts, savory foods, or chocolate. That’s because it needs fat to transport these vitamins to the cells. Michael experienced this himself: When he took the fat-soluble vitamins together with micellized omega-3, his cravings were already noticeably reduced at first. Then, as the weeks went by, they were gone completely, once his body had stored more nutrients and settled into the method.
It was very similar for me, too. You can picture it like a dimmer, not a light switch. Pretty early on in the method, my cravings were already noticeably reduced, but they still came back relatively quickly. From week to week, they then stayed away longer and got weaker and weaker at the same time. After about three weeks, I could just stick with the method without getting cravings in between anymore. The nagging urge to keep going to the fridge was completely gone, at least as long as I took the nutrients regularly.
I still had a desire for the taste, though, for example when a few already-cut pieces of cake were sitting on the kitchen table. I took a piece and ate it bit by bit, over a long time, without the urge to wolf it down. And then that was enough. Not out of discipline, but because I simply didn’t have the urge anymore. The piece still tasted good, but it was a lot less fun than it used to be. The first bites were the best — after that, the movie, the game, or the chat with friends was more exciting than what was left on the plate. Often, half the piece was still sitting around for quite a while. It felt like my body was saying: But you already have everything you need. Why should I still dish out happy feelings for it now?
Why micellized omega-3 is part of it
Fat-soluble vitamins are — as the name suggests — transported into the body via fats. Even with good digestion, this tends to be sluggish and slow, and with impaired digestion, it’s considerably worse still. Micellized forms (processed to be water-soluble) bypass this step. That’s why micellized omega-3 is part of the method too, because it helps absorb the fat-soluble vitamins better.
B vitamins
More energy and resilience
B vitamins are involved in the cells’ energy production, meaning in burning fat and sugar. You can feel niacin, one of the B vitamins, especially clearly. It dilates the blood vessels in the skin, which then turns red and tingles. This is called a niacin flush. Michael felt it after just a few minutes, and with the better circulation, his physical and mental resilience increased too.
I can confirm that: I get the tingling, warmth, and redness of the skin too. I’ve been taking the B vitamins almost continuously for over 13 years, and the reaction still comes to this day. With regular intake, it gets a little weaker, but it’s never completely gone. It gets a good deal stronger when I’ve taken a two- or three-week break, I’m worn out, I’m under a lot of stress, and I then take them on an empty stomach.
Why the combination with minerals is important
B vitamins boost the burning of fat and sugar in the cells. But this also produces more acids, and the body needs more minerals to carry them away. If they’re missing, a surplus of acids develops over time. That makes body and mind tired and leads to inflammatory reactions and water retention.
Michael experienced this himself: When he took B vitamins continuously but too few minerals, his connective tissue swelled up with water. He also needed more and more B vitamins to still feel an effect. Only with enough minerals was that balanced out.
Protecting the nerves
Vitamin B12 strengthens the nerves and gets used up when the nerves are working. Other B vitamins like B9 (folate), B6, and B1 are important for the nervous system too. They’re especially needed during weight loss. That’s because when fat reserves are broken down, acids and harmful substances are released that trigger irritations like tension or pain. The nerves pass these stimuli on and need more B vitamins to do so. If they’re lacking, the nerves become overstimulated. This shows up, for example, as restlessness, irritability, anxiety, anger, feeling overwhelmed, or a lack of staying power, and that’s exactly what makes many diets fail.
I can confirm that: With the B vitamins and the minerals, I became considerably calmer and less irritable. I was also much livelier, more alert, and more focused. I no longer had a midday slump, and overall, I got through the day better.
Water-soluble / micellized omega-3 fatty acids
Against cravings and for better absorption
- Act as carriers for the fat-soluble vitamins in the body.
- Support the burning of fat and sugar in the cells as a result.
- Prevent an omega-3 deficiency.
The anti-inflammatory effect of curcuma with omega-3
When fat reserves are broken down, acids and harmful substances that were deposited in the fat cells are released. They trigger inflammatory reactions and irritations that the body has to heal. That costs energy and nutrients and can show up, for example, as water retention, joint pain, tiredness, or irritability.
Curcumin, the best-known active compound in the curcuma root (also known as turmeric), has an anti-inflammatory effect. Curcuma is found in curry. That’s why curry was always part of Michael’s daily routine: a teaspoon straight into the vegetable skillet. Curcumin, however, is fat-soluble and needs micelles so the gut can absorb it well. That’s why Michael combined the curry with the micellized omega-3.
A study from the University of Hohenheim shows how much difference micelles can make: In that study, curcumin in micelles was absorbed around 185 times better than regular curcumin powder.
Q10
More energy
Coenzyme Q10 is a substance the body makes itself. It’s present in almost all cells and is involved in energy production in the mitochondria. There, Q10 is an integral part of burning fat and sugar. It works like a relay runner: It picks up the energy from the burning and passes it on until the cell can work with it. If there’s too little Q10, the burning slows down.
Q10 is especially important for over-acidified cells, because they need energy to take in minerals and get rid of the acids. With age, the body’s own Q10 level drops. Taking it as a supplement prevents a deficiency.
With Q10, I mainly had more energy and more get-up-and-go. But the method also worked well for me without Q10: My cravings decreased until at some point they were gone completely.
Losing weight without hunger
Michael took Q10 together with the micellized omega-3. That made his cravings go away even faster. With omega-3 alone, without Q10, it didn’t happen quite as quickly for him.
Tightening the skin
Anyone who loses a lot of weight quickly knows the problem: The skin can’t keep up that fast and starts to wrinkle. That’s exactly what happened to Michael when he was losing weight. That’s why he took Q10 at the same time, and over time his skin tightened up again.
How exactly Michael used these nutrients
Michael’s standard morning combination was a glass of water with:
- fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K)
- B vitamins
- water-soluble omega-3 fatty acids
- Q10
With it, he supported the burning of fat and sugar and dimmed down his cravings for something savory or sweet between meals step by step, until at some point there were none left at all. At lunch, he added B vitamins, and after lunch and dinner, minerals each time.
If he still got hungry in between, he had two or three tablespoons from the vegetable skillet or another glass of water with fat-soluble vitamins, omega-3, and Q10. What’s meant here is real hunger, meaning an empty, growling stomach, not the urge for something sweet or savory. And the vegetable skillet isn’t light fare made of a bit of broccoli and herbs: It’s fried in coconut oil, with meat or tofu and cream, and that’s why it’s really filling.
Michael stuck to exactly this routine throughout his 2.5-month phase in which he lost the 25 kg. You’ll find the exact amounts in the meal plan.
