Frequently asked questions

The warmth effect, nutrients, and real-world experience — the most important questions about the PepperBurnMethod, answered honestly.

The PepperBurnMethod was developed by Michael Prgomet — a naturopath with over 35 years in practice. The concept combines naturopathic knowledge about metabolism, digestion, and nutrient balance into a holistic system for diet and everyday life.

In practical use — with Michael himself, with his clients, and in my own journey — a noticeable physical warmth consistently showed up, as well as a distinct change in weight, energy, and general well-being.

The results varied depending on how consistently the method was implemented: The more consistently it was followed, the more closely the results resembled Michael’s own.

Participants who ate a bit more freely — occasionally having bread rolls or döner, generally taking in more calories — still lost weight steadily. More slowly, but still without counting calories or strict diet rules.

⚠️ The PepperBurnMethod does not replace medical treatment and makes no guarantees of healing or success. It serves to optimize diet and lifestyle naturally, based on naturopathic principles and many years of experience in practice.

Black pepper contains piperine — a natural plant compound that can trigger several effects in the body that have turned out to be clearly noticeable in practice.

Among other things, piperine shows appetite-suppressing properties, which the PepperBurnMethod makes targeted use of — especially in combination with:

  • High-fat foods (cream, cheese, other fat-rich components)
  • Targeted supplements that also have a positive effect on appetite

That’s how this effect fits into the overall concept.

The decisive factor, however, is the warmth effect. With regular intake adjusted to body weight — at least one level teaspoon of black pepper per day, spread throughout the day — many people develop a noticeable inner warmth.

Especially striking: the feeling of warmer hands and feet — sometimes so intense that they have to be stuck out from under the covers at night.

⚠️ Important: If you have a sensitive stomach, reflux, or gastritis, are pregnant, or take prescription medication, check with a doctor or naturopath first — piperine can increase the absorption of some active ingredients.

The warmth effect occurs when the body uses more energy than usual. This energy is also given off in the form of body heat — a signal that the metabolism is working more actively and thermogenesis is getting going.

What’s crucial for this:

  • Sufficient pepper intake, spread throughout the day
  • Healthy fat intake for better absorption
  • Tailored nutrient supply to stabilize the effect

In practice, it has become clear that ordinary store-bought black pepper (even from the supermarket) is enough — if it’s taken regularly and spread throughout the day. Ideally in combination with some fat (cream, oil) — that improves absorption and is easier on the stomach.

But pepper alone isn’t enough for a stable, longer-lasting warmth phase. For that, the body needs enough nutrients to keep the energy processes in the so-called respiratory chain running constantly — without slowing down along the way.

In short: Pepper revs up the engine, and the nutrients keep it running.

In principle, any intake of the nutrients mentioned can be helpful. In practice, however, it has become clear: With a stimulated metabolism — meaning in phases of increased calorie burning — the need for micronutrients, vitamins, and trace elements rises considerably.

If you eat less at the same time, you inevitably also take in fewer nutrients from food.

This can lead to small “supply gaps” that can have a negative impact on:

  • Energy
  • Heat production
  • General well-being

High-quality supplements help bridge this shortfall and keep the metabolism steadily active.

In principle, any product containing vitamins, minerals, and trace elements can have a supportive effect.

But here’s what practice has shown: Quality and bioavailability are crucial — meaning how well the body can actually absorb and use the substances.

Many inexpensive products come in an inactive or poorly soluble form — so they’re only partially utilized.

Products with micronutrients in an already active or emulsified form are usually absorbed better and lead to more stable results. That has been seen repeatedly — especially in combination with pepper and the other components of the method.

In actual use, it has become clear: The day is best structured when you take pepper and nutrients evenly spread throughout the day. That way, the warmth phase stays stable and the metabolism runs evenly.

💡 Important practical tip: It’s best to drink the nutrients (e.g., in the form of a drink) on as empty a stomach as possible — that way they can be absorbed optimally.

The principle rests on three pillars:

1. Activate the metabolism — through pepper, turmeric, and a balanced intake of nutrients.

2. Avoid possible blockages — gluten and excessive starch intake put a strain on digestion and metabolism and can slow down the flow of energy.

3. Relieve the strain on the body — through enough water, minerals, and anti-inflammatory components, to support the natural regulatory processes.

How strict do you have to be?

That depends on your personal goals.

If you want to experience the full effect — meaning warmth, energy, and weight change about as strong as Michael’s — you should follow the method consistently: Take pepper, turmeric, and nutrients regularly, and largely avoid heavier strain from gluten and starch.

If you want to take a more relaxed approach — you can flexibly adapt how you do it to your everyday life. Even with occasional deviations (sweet or starchy meals now and then), the metabolism can stay active — as long as the basic principles are in place.

What matters is self-observation: The scale and the feeling of warmth usually give quick feedback on whether the body is in active mode or whether adjustments are needed.

In the PepperBurnMethod, sugar and carbohydrates are not categorically forbidden. Neither the concept nor the practice is aimed at punishing yourself.

Michael and other users also had small exceptions while following the method — a bar of chocolate, a few chips, an occasional glass of cola.

During his own journey — the two-and-a-half-month weight-loss phase in which he lost about 25 kilos — Michael drank around ten 1.5-liter bottles of cola in total, mostly as a weekend treat. Not constant deprivation, but a conscious, moderate approach.

Thanks to the activated metabolism and the combination of pepper, turmeric, healthy fats, and targeted nutrient intake, the body handled amounts like these well.

Many even report that their appetite for sweet or savory food has decreased considerably overall.

Practical tip: If you treat yourself, it’s best to do it during the day — when the metabolism is running at full speed anyway.

What remains crucial is balance: As long as the basic principles are followed — an active metabolism, fewer calories than you burn (within the overall framework), no excess starch or gluten — progress is maintained.

In short: The method thrives on awareness, not on prohibitions.

Not necessarily. It depends on your individual overall condition.

From experience: Many people who are significantly or long-term overweight — especially over 30 — have digestive or metabolic problems in which gluten and starch play a role.

As described on the subpage “The pepper effect — the role of gluten and starch”: These substances can put a strain on digestion and the flow of energy if they’re regularly eaten in larger amounts.

If, on the other hand, you’re younger, only slightly overweight, and have stable digestion overall — you can often tolerate moderate amounts of foods containing gluten and starch without them significantly disrupting the method’s effect.

Even so, keep an eye on total calories — within the overall framework, not just per day.

Practical note

If you take the pepper regularly in the amount described for several days up to 3 weeks — and still don’t feel any warmth or activation, or tiredness, heaviness, or sluggishness comes over you after bread/pasta/pastries — that’s often a sign that your body is sensitive to these foods.

In that case, it can help to leave out or significantly reduce products containing gluten and starch for a while, so the method can take full effect.

In practice, it has become clear: The full effect usually doesn’t set in immediately. The body needs time to settle in — nutrients have to be built up, inflammation regulated, and metabolic processes activated.

| Time frame | What many report | |---|---| | First few days | Slight changes, often still subtle | | Weeks 2–3 | Warmth phase clearly sets in; warm hands and feet; increased energy | | From 3 weeks on | More stable active mode, more noticeable weight change |

Of course, this varies from person to person — some feel the effect after a few days, others only after 2 to 3 weeks — depending on their starting point, diet, and the strain on their metabolism and digestion.

From experience — and based on the results in practice so far — the general rule is:

The higher the starting weight and the more consistently the method is followed, the more pronounced the change usually is.

Age, hormonal situation, lifestyle, and general state of health play a big role here.

Examples to help put this in perspective

🔵 27-year-old woman, slightly overweight, stable hormone balance, normal activity, healthy digestion: Often, after just a few days, noticeable warmth and first changes in weight.

🟠 Severe or long-term excess weight, impaired digestion, hormonal strain: The settling-in phase takes longer. The body uses the initial period to stabilize internal processes — before the warmth phase and the weight loss really set in.

What happens in the body

In many people, the body starts to regulate itself after a while: Nutrients are first used for basic balancing and repair processes. Only once this inner balance has been reached does the warmth phase increase considerably — and with it, usually the visible weight loss too.

In practice, this showed up especially from the third week on.

Important: The feeling of warmth is the clearest signal that the metabolism is actively working. If you clearly feel this warmth — especially in your hands and feet — you can usually assume that your body is burning noticeably more.

If nothing happens after 2 weeks

If there are hardly any changes even after 2 weeks — neither in weight nor in the sensation of warmth — this can have various causes:

  • Too much gluten or starch
  • Poor sleep
  • Hormonal imbalances

In such cases, it’s worth having a doctor check whether there are hormonal or metabolic disorders that can weaken the effect. Only when the hormonal balance is stable can the body make optimal use of the effect of pepper and nutrients.

In short: Yes. There are situations in which the PepperBurnMethod takes hold more slowly or, at first, only to a lesser degree.

From experience, this mainly affects people with several factors that put a strain on them at the same time:

  • Pronounced hormonal disorders (e.g., an underactive thyroid)
  • Long-standing severe exhaustion / stress load
  • Significant digestive and gut problems
  • Chronic inflammation or many “trouble spots” at once

In such cases, the body often takes longer at first to come into balance.

Only in the second step does the full warmth phase come — and with it, the more noticeable weight loss too.

Important to understand

The method can bring the body close to its individually achievable “metabolic maximum” — but it can’t magically override basic organ and hormone functions.

If, for example, the thyroid is severely slowed down, it almost always takes longer for warmth and weight changes to show up to the same extent as in someone with a stable hormone balance.

In practice, though, it becomes clear: Even people with already weakened systems gradually notice changes they can feel — provided they stick with it consistently.

When should you see a doctor?

If, despite consistent implementation, neither warmth nor any notable weight changes show up after 3 to 4 weeks, it makes sense to get checked by a doctor. Possible causes:

  • Hormonal disorders
  • Pronounced inflammatory processes
  • Other medical factors

Important for putting this in perspective

These “slowdown cases” tend to be the exception.

Based on experience with the method so far, the majority of people belonged to the group with relatively quick first effects — especially people who were slightly to moderately overweight, without serious pre-existing conditions and without heavy long-term medication.

FAQ 11 isn’t meant to scare you, but to put things in perspective: If things go more slowly in an individual case, there are usually good reasons — which you can keep in the back of your mind and have checked by a doctor if needed.

Many users — myself included — report typical signals when the PepperBurnMethod takes hold:

Feeling of warmth

Hands and feet feel considerably warmer than before. The feeling of better circulation “from the inside out.” Fewer covers needed in the evening, feet get stuck out of bed more often — because they’re so warm.

Fewer cravings

The strong desire for sweets, fatty snacks, or high-carbohydrate dishes eases off. The appetite is still there — but the inner “I need something sweet right now” gets noticeably weaker.

More stable energy

The typical energy slumps become less frequent. Many describe themselves as more steadily alert, less “crashing” after eating, and more consistent throughout the day overall.

Lighter eating habits

Meals are intuitively chosen to be a little lighter. More home-cooked, simpler dishes. The body no longer “demands” certain combinations (lots of starch + lots of fat) — but feels better with less.

The more of these signals appear at the same time — and the clearer the sensation of warmth — the more there is to suggest that the metabolism is working more actively and the method is taking hold.

Many classic diets don’t fail for lack of willpower — they fail because of cravings.

That’s exactly where the PepperBurnMethod comes in — not through “iron willpower,” but through changes in the body.

Many users — myself included — report: As soon as the method takes hold, the typical strong desire for sweets, fatty snacks, or very high-carbohydrate dishes calms down noticeably.

Why, from my point of view?

1️⃣ Better nutrient supply instead of constant deficiency signals

When the body lacks certain fat-soluble vitamins and key nutrients, it often signals this through increased appetite for sweets or rich meals.

Through the combination of pepper, turmeric, an adapted diet, and targeted supplementation, the body is better supplied — and for many, this inner “urging” eases off noticeably.

2️⃣ More stable energy through the warmth effect

When the metabolism works more actively, there are fewer deep energy dips in everyday life. Many describe themselves as more alert and more stable — and it’s exactly during these phases that cravings occur less often.

3️⃣ Less of a roller coaster through a conscious approach to gluten & starch

Cutting back on flour products that put a strain on the body makes digestion run more calmly for many people. That takes the strain off the metabolism and can soften swings in how energetic you feel.

What matters to me

The PepperBurnMethod doesn’t switch cravings off completely, as if with a light switch — and that isn’t the promise, either.

But here’s what has become clear: For many people, the intensity and frequency of sudden cravings decrease noticeably, and dealing with the urge for something sweet or savory feels more relaxed and more controllable.

In short: No. Exercise isn’t a must — but it can be a very good booster.

What exercise essentially does

Exercise means: The body revs up the engine. Muscles need more energy, more nutrients, more oxygen — calorie burn goes up. If, in the process, you take in fewer calories than you burn, the body draws on its reserves.

What the PepperBurnMethod does

The method works on the same principle — just “from the inside”: Through black pepper, turmeric, an adapted diet, and targeted nutrient intake, the metabolism can work more actively than before.

That’s exactly why Michael, I myself, and other users were able to achieve noticeable changes in weight — without an exercise program alongside it.

The turbo analogy

Exercise is like an external turbo — periods of high burn. The PepperBurnMethod builds up an internal turbo — basal metabolic rate and thermogenesis are raised throughout the whole day.

But: Movement is still valuable

Every form of activity has added benefits:

  • Circulation gets moving better
  • Heart and blood vessels get a workout
  • The lymph does its job better
  • Stress hormones can drop
  • More stable general well-being

Whether it’s regular walks, stairs instead of the elevator, or light workouts at home — at the beginning, doing it regularly plays a bigger role than intensity.

Real-world observation

When the method takes hold, many report more inner energy and drive. That can be exactly the moment when you feel like moving again of your own accord — and then exercise can be used to amplify the effect, instead of forcing yourself into it from the start.

Important: The PepperBurnMethod is also meant to work for people who feel heavy, tired, or stuck at first. That’s why exercise isn’t a mandatory building block — but rather an optional bonus.
